There are endless ways to change up the look of an otherise boring, drab room ithout breaking the bank; and you don’t have to be Martha Stewart or Nate Berkus to transform a room from blah to WOW! either.
Paint: Give yourself one weekend, a can of paint and a little inspiration and you may just shock yourself! Paint one way, turning it into the focal point of the room. If you’re brave enough, try a cool pattern such as wide stripes in a monochromatic color pattern.

Art work: Hang a colorful abstract print that includes colors that are complimentary to your existing color palette. You don’t have to spend a ton of money to get a quality piece either. Opt for a canvas painting, you can go to a site like Amazon.com and find really nice canvas oil painting for well under $200.
Incorporate accent pieces: Well placed throw pillows, candles, vases and lamps that are in the same color and pattern family as the hues throughout the room can be used to highlight your unique tastes and experiences. If you enjoy travelling, look for items that remind you of your favorite places. If you are an avid book reader, an open back book case is a special touch to a room as well.
